the acquisition of the sims 4
with everything coming out as of recently, i feel like it'd be a no brainer to stop supporting the company... but i suppose not.
all of the bigger creators that play the sims either say "oh well im not sure what to do so i'll keep playing" or just haven't said anything.
like... what? are we doing?
i'm not going to delve into the entirety of the buyout of ea by jared kushner (though i do recommend watching notmalcom's most recent video: "i'm sick of performative sims influencers" or any of the videos of his mentioning it) but i'd expect that a community so diverse would raise an eyebrow (at minimum) to the buyout.
like.. i hope people aren't going to buy or even play the game in general.
to those creators that say things like "oh well im not sure what to do so i'll keep playing" or "im worried about the state of the sims"... there's more pressing issues to be worried about! if you'd rather stick with a game (with thousands of bugs might i add) over actual integrity, it says a lot about your character.
in that video i mentioned above, he mentions that sims creators in the past have 'boycotted' (for lack of a better term) a game about harry potter due to the possibility that terf rowling would receive anything from it. which is a good thing!
but where's that same amount of attention for this?
i already feel a semblance of disappointment from creators promoting the sims as if that shit doesn't have 20 expansions and over 100 dlc but this just makes me even more upset.
