The Glaring Issue of Age Verification for Chatting (Part II)

AI.

That's a given.

People can easily just generate a photo of someone who looks over (...or under) their actual age.

In turn, that person (if using a photo of someone younger than they are) are able to chat with younger people.

Schlep mentions this in a TikTok (I don't have TikTok myself but I have seen the diagram as an example he used).

To continue, an adult actually 'classified' by Roblox as an adult cannot see the messages of the child and the adult faking to be a child.

IN ADDITION, I assume the whole point of the update was to prevent off-platform interaction with users but this ultimately makes the issue significantly worse.

So, TLDR, you either get people moving off-platform (which is the adverse thing wanted) OR you get people faking to be younger in order to talk to children.

In any case, it's not looking good for Roblox.

All of this is just so insane and I wanted to let my thoughts out.

It feels as if with every update or every response, they fall deeper into a hole that is harder to come back out of.
